Monterey Council on Aging
Minutes of May 14, 2018
The meeting convened at 10:05 am. Present were N. Champigny, R. Champigny, K. Purcell, C. Weber and Kyle Pierce. Roz Halberstader attended and is willing to become active with the council.
The movies have been popular. The DVDs are supplied by ourselves and the library. Esther Heffernan is a big help. Folks are making nice suggestions.
The Super Senior luncheon is on schedule for May 17th. The meal has been ordered and the music confirmed. 24 are expected.
Discussions: Increase membership so the council is ready for retirements. Consider a walking group (again) . Vests for safety would be a good idea. Egremont and Great Barrington had an event where these were given out.
Events: Municipal Vulnerability Workshop will present findings at 6 pm in Town Hall on Tuesday, June 6th.
Mandala Art class from 12:30 to 2 pm at the community center on Thursdays, June 14th and 21st. Free
CoA Workshop presented by the state in the Pittsfield Senior Center, June 22nd from 9 to 11:30 am.
Pittsfield Suns ballgame on Sunday, July 8th at 5pm. CoA requesting $5. person and RSVP to 528-9151.
Meeting adjourned at 11: 15 am.
Next meeting is June 18th.
